Vena Ray made her dramatic entrance by crashing the gate of Space Affairs Headquarters to relay vital information to Secretary Drake. From the begining, Vena Ray was action orrientated, and ready to take on whatever was required to meet the challenge!
Although never issued an official Ranger uniform, Vena Ray made herself a part of Rocky Jones' crew.
As a linguist and navigator working for the Office of Space Affairs on Earth. Vena Ray was frequently part of Rocky Jones' crew on the Orbit Jet, and later the Silver Moon.
The name Vena Ray can be derived to mean Venus Energy, and Vena was certainly the female of the crew. Operating as mother, nurse, secretary, teacher, and female perseective on the show, Vena Ray proved herself competent when needed, (after proper Ranger training) and became a valued additon to Space Affairs, (coordinating the ground crew in "Cold Sun"). Although her role was often delegated to that of comedic overtones, (falling for the he-man hunk in "Cold Sun", or wanting to get her hair done), it was often her female strengths that helped sell the scene (trying in vain to contact the missing Rocky via radio in "Bobby's Comet") or complete the mission, (having a lipstick to use as a screwdriver in "Silver Needle in the Sky")!
